Me and My love of lecturing Auditing!

I’ve been lecturing Auditing for nine years now! I’ve always loved it…. and I’ve always been a little sad that most students don’t love it.

I lecture it online now, and I always battle to explain to students who I am, and why I think it’s so great for them, and actually, better than my face-to-face classes ever could be!

In this excerpt, Toby was referring to 'box jobs' as part of his training... we have very different feelings about those box jobs! The point, however, is while we're looking forward to what we need to teach students in the future, it inevitably means that we will 'lose' some things. Chipo and I connected a while back on LinkedIn and we ran into eachother at the British Accounting & Finance Association Accounting Education Academic Conference in May 2026 in Sheffield, UK. As we chatted, I realised that I really wanted students who are struggling to hear some of our discussions, so, I dragged Chipo into a room and we recorded a chat for you. (Ok, I didn't drag her... but I was pretty insistent!). The result? A great conversation for people who feel like they're facing a wall, who worry that 'this' is as far as they'll ever get.
